Sometimes there is an episode powerful enough that just warrants a recap and tonight’s two-hour long season finale of Once Upon A Time was that kind of an episode.

GINNIFER GOODWIN, JARED S. GILMORE, JOSH DALLASStorybrooke aka Present Time: While Emma is still dead set on packing up her things and moving her and Henry back to New York City, Snow and Charming are basking in that new parent glow. Later the whole town is gathered at Granny’s for the “coronation” ceremony where we learn what the new little Prince’s name will be, but before that can happen Emma runs off after Hook kinda spills the beans about her big move.  At the same time Henry points out there is a giant beam of light shooting up into the sky, and that is never a good sign. Turns out that even though the Wicked Witch is ding, dong, dead her parting gift was that her time travel spell was still a go.  Rushing off to check it out means that of course Emma and Hook get sucked up and land right at the beginning of Henry’s story book.

Enchanted Forest of Old: Anyone worth their salt or who as at least seen Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban knows that when time travel is involved there are two rules: 1) Don’t be seen and 2) Don’t change the past.  While Emma manages to do both when she interrupts when Snow White and Prince Charming first meet. This now means that her and Hook must race around EF (while pretending to be one Prince Charles and Princess Leia) to right their wrong and get Snow and Charming back on the right path.  In the process of doing this Emma has an “ah-ha” moment, this whole time she as been searching for her home when it was right under her nose the whole time. Once she realizes this, the magic that Zelena took from her returns allowing her, Hook, and a few surprise guests to return to Storybrooke.

Storybrooke Pt.  Emma leaves the guest they “kidnapped/saved” to Hook telling him to explain everything so she doesn’t totally freak out.JENNIFER MORRISON  Back at Granny’s, time has barely passed, and Emma gives her parents what might be the first proper hug ever and greets them as Mom and Dad.  In return they announce that they have named their new son in honor of a hero that has saved everyone, Prince Neal.  While everyone is cooing over the new little Prince, Emma has a heart to heart with Hook where she learns that she traded his most valuable possession, the Jolly Roger, in order to open the portal that allowed him to bring her back to Storybrooke in the first place.  This admission lead to a pretty hot make-out session between the two.  We also learn that the guest Emma saved from the Evil Queen’s dungeon was none other than Maid Marion aka Robin Hood’s formerly dead wife, which is a problem seeing how Mr. Robin of Locksley is currently on the arm of one reformer Evil Queen.  The big question of the day will now be will Regina expect that Emma seriously didn’t mean to hurt her or will be see The Evil Queen return with a remix of her revenge??

Surprise!!! – As is custom, the final few moments of any OUAT finale usually reveal what is coming next and this season finale did not fail.  A silver urn also made the journey back from the Enchanted Forest with Hook & Emma, that urn contained an icy blue Princess who just happens to have a freezing touch. It looks like someone just wants to “Build A Snowman”… yes, it looks like Princess Elsa from the hit film Frozen is coming to Storybrooke in the fall.
