Day 1 of Comic-Con is fully under way and the first big panel of the weekend was Liongates The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2.
Today’s panel marked the last time we’ll be seeing the cast at SDCC as the final film hits theaters in November. The panel included director Francis Lawrence as well as cast members Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and of course Jennifer Lawrence.
“I’ll never really say goodbye to her. I feel like it’ll always be a part of me.” – Jennifer Lawrence on saying goodbye to her character Katniss
During the panel the first full length trailer for Mockingjay Part 2 was screened and according to the response on social media, it was amazing. While the full trailer has yet to be released online, a new teaser was posted to Hunger Games Twitter when the panel concluded.
“The end is emotional for all of us. We want to deliver the emotion and the politics of it, all the things that [author] Suzanne [Collins] wanted to say. But we don’t want to say goodbye to each other. We all wish there were seven or eight books, not just three. It’s a very emotional conclusion. It’s emotional for us, but it will be emotional for the fans.” – producer Nina Jacobson.
