Beauty | NARS Fall 2016

Processed with VSCO with c4 preset

Whether it is makeup or clothing, fall is my favorite time of year. While most of the trends focus on bold, berry or black toned lips and striking yes, NARS is going a bit softer for the fall season and that is not a bad thing.

The “PowerFall” collection features new shades of the Dual Intensity Eyeshadow, ¬†Contour Blush, and Velvet Matte Lip Pencil plus the introduction of the Velvet Eyeliner. This new eyeliner is soft, yet defined; creamy while still bold in color, and blends like a dream and is available in 7 shades. The new shadow shades are range from a white and rose gold shade to a deeper indigo while the lip pencils come in to various red hues.

I’ve had some time to play around with the new collection and here are my favorites.

  • Contour Blush: I’ve been a big fan of the contour blush since it was first released and these new shades don’t change that fact. I got “Talia” for my lighter complexion and it works perfectly.
  • Velvet Matte Lip Pencil: We all know I love a good red lip and out of the two offered here, my favorite is “Consuming Red”. It’s a bit more deeper, almost bordeaux like which are the typical red lip shades I tend to reach fore.
  • Dual¬†Intensity Eyeshadow: I am living for the “Antares” (white gold) and “Rigel” (rose gold) shades here. The white shade works great for define the brow and the rose gold shade is perfect for a softer eye look. As a bonus, both shades also double REALLY well as a face highlight.
  • Velvet Eyeliner: Fall is a great time of year to reach for other colors outside of black. Out of the seven shades offered, I have to say my favorites are “Darklight” (navy), “Mambo” (hazelnut), “London” (grey), “Last Frontier” (espresso). They all look great alone or mixed into a full eye look.

The NARs Fall 2016 collection if available now. What shades are you dying to try? Let me know if the comments below.
