Beauty | Essentials for the Big (Wedding) Day!

wedding-day-essentials-1

Your wedding day can be overwhelming in every way possible. From unexpected guests to unpredictable weather, one thing you can really control is how you get ready and the items you use. I have compiled a list for my Wedding Day essentials.

Try your hardest to get a good night’s sleep. If you’re anything like me, that is not feasible. So I go by the old adage “fake it til you make it.” To combat those puffy eyes, I recommend the Garnier Clearly Brighter Anti-Puff Eye Roller.

Take a long, soothing shower and remember that everything will work itself out. Use this time to help prep your skin with Caress Evenly Gorgeous Body Wash to exfoliate get as close of a shave as possible and make your skin look radiant.

Bullet Proof/Tear Proof Makeup. The day of your wedding is VERY long. It takes HOURS to get ready, followed by hours of pictures and dancing. Your makeup and hair must be bullet proof and of course tear proof.  Start by prepping your skin to help control oil and keep your makeup at bay with the waterproof Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. Urban Decay is known for long lasting products. I recommend following the primer with the Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation that has amazing coverage and will literally last for hours, as well as the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick and Liner. Clean up any smudges with the Q-tip Precision Tip cotton swabs which are a great multi-function tool to keep with you throughout the day.

Finishing touches. I loved the Alterna Caviar Finishing Spray to set my hair. You also can’t forget your wedding day scent. I loved the Missoni Eau de Toilette because not only does the gorgeous bottle that is made to represent sunny colors and looks great displayed on your vanity, the floral woody scent is timeless and elegant and smells divine.

To help your aching feet throughout the night, I love Sole Serum which has a small amount of Lidocaine which helps numb your feet a little bit. Solesrum.com even has a Bridal Pack which you can get as a gift to your bridesmaids who will definitely be thankful for the foot pain relief.

Take it all off. At the end of a very long day/night, wash all of the hairspray and product out with the Clear Hair Complete Scalp Care Shampoo and Conditioner. I also recommend using a hair mask like the Clairol Hair Food Moisture Mask Infused with Honey Apricot Fragrance. I put it on in the shower after washing my hair, and keep it on for 3-5 minutes. When it’s rinsed out, your hair is left silky smooth and shiny. Its also important to take off your long wearing makeup. For a heavy makeup day like your wedding, I recommend a 2 step process. First, take off your makeup using a wipe, like the Ponds Original Fresh Moisture Clean Towelettes which are a favorite of mine because one side is textured to insure maximum makeup removal, and since you don’t need to wash your face after, you can literally do it in your bed. No excuses to not take your makeup off! It also makes your skin soft and moisturized due to the Cold Cream technology infused into the cloth. I like to add as much moisture as possible to my skin so I follow up makeup removal with the L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Facial Oil which adds intense moisture to your skin using natural oils, leaving your skin with a nourished, healthy glow.

My most important tip is to remember that this is supposed to be the happiest day of your life. Something might go wrong, but in the end, you are marrying the love of your life in front of the most important people in your life. Enjoy every second and make sure to take a minute to step back and soak it all in.
