Oscar winning actor Robin Williams has passed away. The actor was found dead in his home in Tiburon, California this morning, he was 63 years old.
His wife, Susan Schneider issued a statement saying “This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.”
In addition his publicist released the following “Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”
On a personal note, I did not know Mr. Williams personally as we never met, however I grew watching his movies. Films like “Dead Poets Society”, “Mrs. Doubtfire”, “Aladdin”, “The Bird Cage”, “Jumanji”, and “Good Will Hunting” can all be held responsible for shaping my love of movies and entertainment. We lost a great light and spirit today. I thank you for the laughs kind sir and you will be greatly missed.
